Moore airlift rapid gravity filters

The most important aspect of design in this range is its air agitated filter floor, which is agitated with compressed air to loosen the accumulated dirt from the filter media particles. This loosened dirt is then carried to waste by a reverse flow of wash water. A unique aspect of this range is that the filtered wash water is stored below each individual filter in a chamber above the main filter, where space is traditionally wasted in conventional products. A major benefit of this unique design is that the filter floor is capable of evenly distributing the agitated air over the entire filter area.

During backwashing, stored wash water is displaced from this chamber by means of compressed air from the same compressor that supplied the air for agitation purposes. The result is that only one single compressor and air main with valved branches for air agitation and wash water placement is required to perform the complete washing function. No wash water pumps, external wash water mains or large wash water inlet and outlet valves are required at all. The Moore range of airlift rapid gravity filters is able to accommodate flow rates varying from 100m3/h to 100mℓ/day.

Steel pressure filters

Steel pressure filters are used to filter settled water, in order to create potable water. These products are used in a closed loop, where the fluid is pumped through the filter. The Swan’s range of steel pressure filters offer the additional advantage of employing air scour blowers in the backwash procedure. The majority of recognised pressure filter manufacturers make use of a false floor, where access to the bottom end of the tank for corrosion protection is severely limited. The Swan’s floor system provides access for sandblasting and coating the entire tank, thanks to an underdrain system.

Steel rapid gravity filters

Steel rapid gravity filters are designed for smaller applications in remote areas with lower flows. The most important aspect of design in this range is its air agitated filter floor, which is agitated with compressed air to loosen the accumulated dirt from the filter media particles.
